Conservative Freedom Fighters

"I spent last Saturday morning
knocking on doors in Clewer with the residents survey team.
We wanted to uncover ‘local’ issues and discover what
people think of Conservative polices.
As expected there was dismay at the £1m road maintenance
cut by Liberal councillors and their £7.5m spending on their
offices.
I had lengthy conversations with several people who voted
Liberal/Labour in 1997. It was amazing that they were
arguing for Conservative policies, but were unaware they
were Conservative policies!
They demanded more beat policemen, scrapping the silly
50% university entrance target and less haste to hand
control of Britain to the EU.
There was widespread frustration at the Labour
Government’s loss of control of immigration.
So I’m delighted that Conservative policies are widely
supported, but I’m disappointed that people are unaware of
Conservative policies.
I’ve determined to work harder to communicate
Conservative policies; Policies that put people’s happiness
and freedom first – irrespective of income, background or
political persuasion.
With the tax and form-filling burdens by Labour
nationally and Liberals locally, we feel like freedom
fighters.
Despite any historic image of the party you may hold, I
ask you to please keep an open mind to consider Conservative
polices – you’ll be surprised!" |
