The Wonderful Spirit of Windsor
22-Jun-04, Windsor Observer.
"As a businessman, I entered politics
to enable people to enjoy a better quality of life.
From recent visits it is clear that people enjoy a better
quality of life with assistance from voluntary and
charitable organisations across the Windsor constituency.
The Liliput Learners Pre-School in Clewer is a good
example. It exists through the energy and commitment of
Claire Brown and unpaid mothers. They cater for children of
working parents, but must raise £100,000 for a
pre-fabricated building to provide more places.
Nearby at Park Corner is Age Concern’s Spencer Denney
Centre. 25 elderly people attend exercise classes and social
sessions. It exists through the dedication and hard work of
Catherine McLinden with unpaid helpers, but they need
drivers (01753 860 685).
The most moving visit was to The Thames Valley Hospice.
The warmth and care shown to people in their dying days is
supported by the care and concern of over 100 volunteers
(01753 842 121).
People across Windsor are selflessly giving their time to
help others. I ask you to please consider contacting one of
these organisations if you have a little time or money to
spare.
The last few weeks have emphasised to me the wonderful
spirit of Windsor." |

I
believe...
People are happier when making their own decisions.
Business is the engine of the economy that generates our
jobs, incomes and taxes.
Government should not interfere in our lives beyond
protecting and defending us.
